Spring at Last!

Forget New Year’s resolutions, spring brings a natural surge of energy, making this season the perfect time to take stock of our health and follow through on those nagging doubts about how we’re treating our bodies. I hope our cover story by Virginia de Leon will inspire you to look at how stress influences your mind and body, and to find creative ways to cope with this “silent epidemic” in your life. And you’ll see how people with the most stressful jobs in town have learned to cope.

If stress has taken a toll on your wellbeing, one sure way to feel better is to get some exercise. It is time to give up the treadmill and check out Zach Hunt’s ideas for moving your workout to the open air.

Spring is also a time of new beginnings. In this issue, Lisa Fairbanks-Rossi talks with members of the birthing community to consider how we bring our babies into this world. Could we do better?

To your health!
Anne McGregor
